Week 10 |
Day 1 |
| (Originally posted Sunday, March 2, 2014)
Overview Jeremiah 10:1-25 - "Why Wooden You Worship?". As we carve our way through the reading of Jeremiah 10 this week, let's keep in mind that we all live by faith in something, we all worship, and we all become like that which we worship. |
Day 2

(Originally posted Monday, March 3, 2014)
(1/2) Jeremiah 10:1-7 - "There Is No One Like Yahweh". As we read today's portion, we should realize that worship is about control: the recognition of who really is in charge here. Yahweh God presents a challenge to us, because we prefer to worship things WE can control, and we harbor reservations if we ourselves are under the control of God Himself. If you disagree, try putting down your remote. Or turning off your phone. Or logging off your game. Or etc.

(2/2) We like our control. Hopefully we will realize it is only a simulated control, and get back to recognizing there is no one like Yahweh God, no one like Jesus the Christ, no one like the Holy Spirit. T/He/y is in control. Get down.

Day 3 |
| (Originally posted Tuesday, March 4, 2014)
Jeremiah 10:8-10 - "Yes, But Who Thought Up The Thinker?". Today's reading may seem outdated because we actually can make statues move and talk, seeming to be alive, but don't be fooled. Sometimes technology can facilitate our way down a path paved with good intentions. Don't just consider thoughts, consider the thinker of the thoughts. |

Jeremiah 10:11-16 - "Deus De Facto" or "It's All Fun And Games Until Yahweh Lets It Go". As we read today, let us bear judiciously in mind the patience exhibited by the one true God, Yahweh. He'll let us be free to worship or not, worship Him or not, even laugh at Him, or not. As we read today, realize verse 11 alone is in Aramaic, not Hebrew, giving it an added emphasis. It's all fun and games until it's His turn to laugh.
Caveat derisor. |
Day 5 |
| (Originally posted Thursday, March 6, 2014)
Jeremiah 10:17-22 - "Pack It Up And Hang On ". In reading today's, realize that Jeremiah's job is kind of like Noah's was. Today realize that sometimes the floods in our lives are the tears God weeps between what He wanted for us and what we actually chose for ourselves. Today realize Jesus is the Ark.
Get on the Ark. |
Day 6 | | (Originally posted Friday, March 7, 2014)
Jeremiah 10:23-25 - "Please Be Gentle". As we finish reading chapter 10 today, let's be aware that it's okay when we admit to God we're wrong in His sight and know that we're in for it to ask for gentleness from Him in His discipline. Let's recognize today that our lives are entirely in His hands. |
Day 7 | | (Originally posted Saturday, March 8, 2014)
Review Jeremiah 10:1-25 and REST in the reality that Yahweh knows who He is, who we are, and what is the disposition and resolution of every situation. |
