Introduction Jesus. He is the Man of P.E.A.R.L. He Himself said, "I am the door" in the Gospel of John chapter 10, and we know that the gates to the New Jerusalem are pearl from Revelation 21; in this way Jesus is our Pearl, our Way into the presence of God; He is God. He is the focus of all 66 books of Scripture, the Holy Bible. And this year we will read through 5 of them: Philippians, Ecclesiastes, Amos, Revelation and Lamentations. 52 Chapters in 52 weeks, beautiful balance in tone, themes, and Testaments: 26 Old and 26 New. In Philippians, Jesus is the Man of Joy from whose storehouse we can freely draw even if bound. In Ecclesiastes, Jesus is the Man of All Seasons to whom the preacher defers in the end. In Amos, Jesus is the Man of Righteousness that is the source of the prophet's fire. In Revelation, Jesus is the Whole Point John writes the Book in the first place. In Lamentations, Jesus is the Man of Great Faithfulness who shows His perfection to those who will pay attention. Let us begin.
