Week 24
Day 1
(Originally posted Sunday, June 8, 2014)

Overview Jeremiah 24:1-10 - "Speaking Figs-You-Are-atively". As we examine the fruit presented in this week's chapter, let's remember that in one way or another, we are also examining ourselves.
Day 2

(Originally posted Monday, June 9, 2014)

Jeremiah 24:1-3 - "Perishables". In English, the word "fish" can mean one fish, or many fish, or the act of catching fish, or even to search for something.
Similarly in Hebrew, the word for "fig", /tuh•eh•NAH/, is also the word for "fig tree".
Similarly, God has created humankind in His image, male and female He created them. We bear His image. See Genesis 1:27.
We all are His creation, but not all are His children. See John 1:12-13.

Next, see John 3:16. Now back to the fig tree. See the figs that haven't perished and the figs that have. Which would you prefer?

Jeremiah 24:4-5 - "They Chose Life" (part 1 of 2). See also Jeremiah 21:8-10. As we read today, let's recall the options Yahweh set before His people in the earlier passage.
May it be that we can see the options He sets before us as well.
Day 4

(Originally posted Wednesday, June 11, 2014)

Jeremiah 24:6-7 - "They Chose Life" (part 2 of 2), or "Surviving Yahweh's Spring Cleaning". As we read God's message to His people today, let's remember that we are living on this side of the fulfillment of His promise; let's also remember that He is saving them from the broom He will be using, namely Babylon.

Jeremiah 24:8 - "They Chose Separation" (part 1 of 2). As we read our one tough verse today, let's know that rottenness in fruit is caused by separation from the tree or vine from which they came. All it takes is time. See also John 15.

This is why Christians WILL NOT perish; see Romans 8:35-39
Day 6

(Originally posted Friday, June 13, 2014)

Jeremiah 24:9-10 - "They Chose Separation" (part 2 of 2), or "Swept Away By Yahweh's Spring Cleaning". Yahweh is patient and slow to anger, and today's portion testifies to this. For let us remember as we read the abrasive verses today that these separated people were acting like those rotted out figs, by carrying on traditions of wickedness that had been going on for over 300 years.

And yet in the Christian's life, Yahweh simply won't allow any other situation to buildup for long. He alone is to be worshiped, and we are to worship Him and Him alone.
Day 7
(Originally posted Saturday, June 14, 2014)

Review Jeremiah 24:1-10 and REST in the notion that
Yahweh reserves for each of His children by Christ Jesus' victory the spoils,
Though each one of His own creation separated from Him by their own victory spoils.
