Friday, October 4, 2002: Left for El Paso. Had to gas up and eat before heading out; got late start. Had difficulty at first praying as Preacher had asked for us to at each stop. Once we did start doing it, though, God got us started.

Saturday, October 5, 2002: Left El Paso for Chihuahua. God blessed us all day long. The Thirtieth Kilometer checkpoint was a much shorter wait than usual. We got into Chihuahua and to the host church just in time for the prayer meeting. It was good to see familiar faces again and to meet new people. Met our host pastor, Brother Noel. Dios es tan bueno. This is going to be a great week.

Sunday, October 6, 2002: 1 Corinthians 3: Morning devotional from Preacher; Point: Empty yourself out for Christ.

Brother Pastor Noel is a great blessing. He was EARLY(!) to pick us up! The morning service was amazing. Cassie poured herself out to offer her testimony and her praise to God.

We had lunch at a local favorite restaurant with Brothers Noel, Eli and David. We stayed longer than scheduled and so went out later than planned, but God still used us...glory be to God for twelve new brothers and sisters in Christ tonight! I went out with Brother Eli and Sister Kathleen ("Kata").

We spoke with a man who, even after he prayed to receive Christ, still seemed unsure. Kathleen was a Godsend; she is here as a long-term missionary.

Our next contact was with a woman and her sons, 11-years- and 16-years-old. Even with all of the distractions around us, we were still able to be heard; Glory to God! This mother and her two sons all three prayed to receive Christ, and they accepted a gift of the Bible. The 11-year-old seemed particularly enthusiastic; God may well use him mightily for the cause of Christ.

Our last visit today was somewhat sad; we spoke with a teenager named Joel, who was seeking for truth. As the gospel was presented, I could see the tears welling up, but even at the invitation, he declined. We encouraged him that if he sought sincerely and wholeheartedly, God would show him the truth.

The evening service was shorter but still wonderful. There was much time given to visitation testimonials. Brother Orocio brought a message on Philippians 1:19 - To Live Is Christ, ... Sister Areli invited us all to a movie (we had to decline) and Humberto encouraged us. !Dios Es Tan Bueno!

Monday, October 7, 2002: God is magnifico! Even with the heaviest rain in ten years here, the Lord still allowed for us to go out with His message of love. People were still saved. Went out in the morning with Brother Jaime. Brother Chris went out with Brother Fernando and Sister Manuelita, and Cassie went out with Brother Eli and another Brother Fernando. The host church had a couple of teams of their own. We had lunch at the host church. Went out in the afternoon with Sisters Lety and Ophelia. Chris went with his same teammates and Cassie went with Brother David and the other Brother Fernando. The rain became prohibitive by about 5:30 or 6p.m. We returned to the host church and dried out and warmed up. Brother Humberto brought a powerful message on Acts 5.

Tuesday, October 8, 2002: At least thirteen souls today! Got to play drums, too.

Wednesday, October 9, 2002: Tough day. Many souls won, yes, but also many people wanting to debate, which consumed precious time; played drums again, though with mistakes, and brought "Jesus of Samaria" message. Brother Horacio who plays the guitar, gave me a bookmark with Psalm 1 printed on it. His wife made it; it's really nice.

Thursday, October 10, 2002: Brought devotional this morning from Revelation 20 and 21 and 1 Thessalonians. A few more saved today. Saw Mormons, said, "Hi." Sang "Un Dia A La Vez". Said "Later," not "Goodbye".

Friday, October 11, 2002: We all had breakfast at translator Lupita's Dad's house (yummy!); went to Chihuahua City downtown and got souvenirs. Headed back to El Paso. After dinner, Preacher brought devotional out under stars.
