What the church means to me is more than brick and more than mortar,
It means more than a rulebook full of laws and orders,
It means more than property lines and boundaries and borders,
It means more than shelter from moral disorder;
The church means to me brothers and sisters,
And bruises and blisters,
And cuts and scars
And candy bars,
Both bitter and sweet--
A delight to eat;
It means to me love and laughter
And everything after,
And childish fears,
And blood, sweat and tears;
It means to me kicking a ball
For once and for all,
And family and friends
And love without end.
