.....The Church has prostrated Herself at the altar of Romance, leaving Her First Love, who is Christ the Lord. For far too long, we CalledOut ones of Jesus Christ have allowed the sweetness of Romance to usurp the goodness and holiness of our God Yahweh in our lives, and to horrible consequences.
.....The Church, the CalledOut, the Ekklaysia, is referred to in the Bible as "The Bride of Christ". The Church has been engaging in behavior that is not consistent with that title, behavior that is "unbridal". Furthermore, particularly in the Church in western society, we've all but abandoned sound biblical teaching with regards to marital relationships, we've become "unbridled"; hence the word-fusion "unbridaled".
....."Reining in Unbridaled Behavior" means getting back to our First Love, our Lord Jesus Christ, and especially in our marital relationships, because Yahweh has blessed us with His institution of marriage to give us a very vivid picture of our relationship to Him, by Him and through Him.
.....By continuing to worship Romance as we do, we will continue to put our children at risk of entering into bad relationships, ill-advised marriages, and broken homes that will tend to continue the cycle. Our little boys will continue to have engrained in them the idea that they must be perfect to get their perfect girl, that they must worship their perfect girl, or else the girl they get doesn't deserve them. Our little girls will continue to hold the idea that "someday my prince will come," reinforcing the idea that she is to be the object of his worship. God forbid!
.....Romance in its true form is idolatry, a most insidious and diabolical form of idolatry, because "how can it be wrong when it feels so right?" As beings designed by Yahweh Elohim to worship Him, Romance moves us to remove Him from our first priority in our hearts, and to replace Him with that special someone about whom we just can't stop thinking, whether we wish to admit that or not. It is a violation of the First Commandment, and the consequences are quite painful.
.....We must keep Romance in check and understand that, like all feelings, they ebb and flow like the tide. We must actively keep our God Yahweh on the throne of our hearts. To do otherwise entangles us in vast clusters of bad fruit. Failure to understand that feelings come and go leads to the rise in divorce rate that we have witnessed in our time. Perhaps we should amend our vows to one another to read, "...for as long as we both are in love"? It would more accurately describe what's been happening. God help us.
.....God is in control. This is the overarching and underpinning point of this entire document. Yahweh God is our Father who loves us in ways we cannot even fathom. As such, He has desires for us to live lives that bring Him maximum glory, and so bring us maximum blessing. One of the primary avenues by which He does all this bringing is through His institution of marriage. It is one of His most beautiful pictures, the picture of His Son Jesus, the Messiah, the Christ, in union with His Bride, the Ekklaysia, the CalledOut, the Church, that is, all Christ-followers as one.
YAHWEH GOD BUILDS HER FOR HIM
Genesis 2:22 Ephesians 2:10
Yahweh Elohim built into a woman the rib which He had taken from the man, and brought her to the man. For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.

YAHWEH'S SERVANT BRINGS HER TO HIM
Genesis 24:63 John 6:44-45, 14:3
Isaac went out to meditate in the field toward evening; and he lifted up his eyes and looked, and behold, camels were coming. "No one can come to Me unless the Father who sent Me draws him; and I will raise him up on the last day. It is written in the prophets, 'AND THEY SHALL ALL BE TAUGHT OF GOD.' Everyone who has heard and learned from the Father, comes to Me."

"If I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself, that where I am, there you may be also."

YAHWEH YIREH ENTRUSTS HER TO HIM
Genesis 41:45 John 10:27-30
Then Pharaoh named Joseph Zaphenath-paneah; and he gave him Asenath, the daughter of Potiphera priest of On, as his wife. And Joseph went forth over the land of Egypt. "My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me; and I give eternal life to them, and they will never perish; and no one will snatch them out of My hand. My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all; and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father's hand. I and the Father are one."

YAHWEH ROI CALLS HER TO HIM
Exodus 2:17-21 Matthew 11:26-30
Then the shepherds came and drove them away, but Moses stood up and helped them and watered their flock. When they came to Reuel their father, he said, "Why have you come back so soon today?" So they said, "An Egyptian delivered us from the hand of the shepherds, and what is more, he even drew the water for us and watered the flock." He said to his daughters, "Where is he then? Why is it that you have left the man behind? Invite him to have something to eat." Moses was willing to dwell with the man, and he gave his daughter Zipporah to Moses. "Yes, Father, for this way was well-pleasing in Your sight.
"All things have been handed over to Me by My Father; and no one knows the Son except the Father; nor does anyone know the Father except the Son, and anyone to whom the Son wills to reveal Him.
"Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest.
"Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and YOU WILL FIND REST FOR YOUR SOULS.
"For My yoke is easy and My burden is light."

If Yahweh is calling, His call should be answered without delay. For there were many gods that were worshipped in Egypt during the time Israel was in hard bondage there. When Yahweh Elohim sent Moses to deliver them out of Egypt, He brought ten plagues upon that land as a demonstration that in fact there is only one God, and Yahweh is His name. (Exodus 7-12)

The first plague that Yahweh put upon Egypt was to turn all the water, from the Nile to Egypt's reservoirs, into blood. In so doing, He demonstrated that He is the God, and not Ash, Hapi, Hatmehit, Mut, Rem, Satet or Wadj-Wer.

The second plague Yahweh sent was frogs everywhere in Egypt, proving He is the God, and not Kuk or Heqet. After this, He sent gnats everywhere, then flies everywhere, demonstrating the powerlessness of Set and Shed.

The fifth plague Yahweh sent was a pestilence that killed the livestock of Egypt specifically, and not any of the Hebrews' livestock. In this, Yahweh demonstrated the non-existence of Hathor and Nefertem and Shed.

In the sixth plague, Yahweh put the magicians of Egypt under His feet as well as showing the emptiness of their gods Heka and Isis, when He had Moses put furnace soot into the air, and all Egyptians found festering boils on their bodies.

In the seventh plague, Yahweh had Egypt crying out "Oh, hail!" by putting upon them the worst hail ever in Egypt, with lightning flashes and rain, proving the impotence of Geb, Horus, Maahes, Neper, Nut, Set and Tefnut.

With the eighth plague, Yahweh showed the complete and hilarious incompetence of gods Weneg and Neper and their kind, by bringing upon Egypt locusts so many to cover the land entirely.

In the ninth plague, Yahweh literally left Egypt in the dark, a palpable darkness for three days, thus demonstrating the uselessness of Iah, Kuk, Mehen, Ra, Sopdul and Theth.

In the worst of all the ten plagues, in the tenth plague Yahweh demonstrates His utterly superior position over all the Egyptian gods, indeed over all gods, with the death of all firstborn in Egypt. He rendered Iat, Isis, Meskhenet, Neith and Osiris utterly vacuous. As Yul Brenner famously said of Moses as the Pharaoh Ramses in Cecil B. DeMille's "The Ten Commandments": "His God IS God."

Similarly, if Yahweh sends a great flood, He may be demonstrating His superiority over Poseidon or Neptune. If Yahweh sends a cyclone, He may be showing the powerlessness of Zeus or Jupiter and Aeolus. A fierce blaze He can cause that illustrates the illusion of Helios or Sol and Phoebus or Apollo. An earthquake He can use to reiterate His supremacy over Hades or Pluto and Persephone or Proserpina. You see, if we worship the four elements found in classical romantic literature--that is, water, wind, fire and earth--He may demonstrate that He is the Reality of Love, the fifth element--or "Quintessence"--over them all. He is Yahweh, and like Him there is no other. Be aware and beware.

Can you hear Him calling? Please respond.

YAHWEH ROPHE SENDS HER TO HIM
Ruth 2:2, 3:5 Matthew 9:20-22
And Ruth the Moabitess said to Naomi, "Please let me go to the field and glean among the ears of grain after one in whose sight I may find favor." And she said to her, "Go, my daughter."

She said to her, "All that you say I will do."
And a woman who had been suffering from a homorrhage for twelve years, came up behind Him and touched the fringe of His cloak; for she was saying to herself, "If I only touch His garment, I will get well." But Jesus turning and seeing her said, "Daughter, take courage; your faith has made you well." At once the woman was made well.

YAHWEH HAHMELECH PREPARES HER FOR HIM
Esther 2:12-17 Revelation 21:2
Now when the turn of each young lady came to go in to King Ahasuerus, after the end of her twelve months under the regulations for the women--for the days of their beautification were completed as follows: six months with oil of myrrh and six months with spices and the cosmetics for women--the young lady would go in to the king in this way: anything that she desired was given her to take with her from the harem to the king's palace. In the evening she would go in and in the morning she would return to the second harem, to the custody of Shaashgaz, the king's eunuch who was in charge of the concubines. She would not again go in to the king unless the king delighted in her and she was summoned by name.

Now when the turn of Esther, the daughter of Abihail the uncle of Mordecai who had taken her as his daughter, came to go in to the king, she did not request anything except what Hegai, the king's eunuch who was in charge of the women, advised. And Esther found favor in the eyes of all who saw her. So Esther was taken to King Ahasuerus to his royal palace in the tenth month which is the month Tebeth, in the seventh year of his reign.

The king loved Esther more than all the women, and she found favor and kindness with him more than all the virgins, so that he set the royal crown on her head and made her queen instead of Vashti.
And I saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, made ready as a bride adorned for her husband.

YAHWEH EL SHADDAI EMPOWERS HER FOR HIM
Proverbs 31:10-31 Ephesians 5:22-24
An excellent wife, who can find?
For her worth is far above jewels.
|
| The heart of her husband trusts in her,
| And he will have no lack of gain.
| |
| | She does him good and not evil
| | All the days of her life.
| | |
| | | She looks for wool and flax
| | | And works with her hands in delight.
| | | |
| | | | She is like merchant ships;
| | | | She brings her food from afar.
| | | | |
| | | | | She rises also while it is still night
| | | | | And gives food to her household
| | | | | And portions to her maidens.
| | | | | |
| | | | | | She considers a field and buys it;
| | | | | | From her earnings she plants a vineyard.
| | | | | | |
| | | | | | | She girds herself with strength
| | | | | | | And makes her arms strong.
| | | | | | | |
| | | | | | | | She senses that her gain is good;
| | | | | | | | Her lamp does not go out at night.
| | | | | | | | |
| | | | | | | | | She stretches out her hands to the distaff,
| | | | | | | | | And her hands grasp the spindle.
| | | | | | | | | |
| | | | | | | | | | She extends her hand to the poor,
| | | | | | | | | | And she stretches out her hands to the needy.
| | | | | | | | | | |
| | | | | | | | | | She is not afraid of the snow for her household,
| | | | | | | | | | For all her household are clothed with scarlet.
| | | | | | | | | |
| | | | | | | | | She makes coverings for herself;
| | | | | | | | | Her clothing is fine linen and purple.
| | | | | | | | |
| | | | | | | | Her husband is known in the gates,
| | | | | | | | When he sits among the elders of the land.
| | | | | | | |
| | | | | | | She makes linen garments and sells them,
| | | | | | | And supplies belts to the tradesmen.
| | | | | | |
| | | | | | Strength and dignity are her clothing,
| | | | | | And she smiles at the future.
| | | | | |
| | | | | She opens her mouth in wisdom,
| | | | | And the teaching of kindness is on her tongue.
| | | | |
| | | | She looks well to the ways of her household,
| | | | And does not eat the bread of idleness.
| | | |
| | | Her children rise up and bless her;
| | | Her husband also, and he praises her, saying:
| | |
| | "Many daughters have done nobly,
| | But you excel them all."
| |
| Charm is deceitful and beauty is vain,
| But a woman who fears Yahweh, she shall be praised.
|
Give her the product of her hands,
And let her works praise her in the gates.
Wives, to your own husbands, as to the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife, as Christ also is the head of the church, He Himself the Savior of the body. But as the church is subject to Christ, so also the wives to their husbands in everything.

YAHWEH ELOHIM COMMENDS HER TO HIM
Song of Songs 1:7 John 1:38
"Tell me, O you whom my soul loves,
Where do you pasture your flock,
Where do you make it lie down at noon?
For why should I be like one who veils herself
Beside the flocks of your companions?"
And Jesus turned and saw them following, and says to them, "What do you seek?" They said to Him, "/rah-BEEH/ (which translated means Teacher), where are You staying?"

A FINAL THOUGHT
Exodus 4:24-26 Ephesians 5:25-33
Now it came about at the lodging place on the way that Yahweh met him and sought to put him to death. Then Zipporah took a flint and cut off her son's foreskin and threw it at Moses' feet, and she said, "You are indeed a bridegroom of blood to me." So He let him alone. At that time she said, "You are a bridegroom of blood"--because of the circumcision. Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself up for her, so that He might sanctify her, having cleansed her by the washing of water with the word, that He might present to Himself the church in all her glory, having no spot or wrinkle or any such thing; but that she would be holy and blameless. So husbands ought also to love their own wives as their own bodies. He who loves his own wife loves himself; for no one ever hated his own flesh, but nourishes and cherishes it, just as Christ also the church, because we are members of His body. FOR THIS REASON A MAN SHALL LEAVE HIS FATHER AND MOTHER AND SHALL BE JOINED TO HIS WIFE, AND THE TWO SHALL BECOME ONE FLESH. This mystery is great; but I am speaking with reference to Christ and the church. Nevertheless, each individual among you also is to love his own wife even as himself, and the wife must that she respects her husband.

"The sternest feminist need not grudge my [gender] the crown offered to it either in the Pagan or in the Christian mystery. For the one is of paper and the other of thorns. The real danger is not that husbands may grasp the latter too eagerly; but that they will allow or compel their wives to usurp it." -C. S. Lewis
