A frog once told me, "Charge your batteries and sharpen your sword, we're runnin' to the darkness in the name of the Lord!" It's a charming little couplet that captures our plight, its unspoken allusion is that we have the lighht; indeed we do, if we know Jesus Christ as our Savior and Lord. (Who could ask for anything more?)
Is the dark afraid of you? That question is a challenge that we will put to our youth. We will be guiding our youth to select outings and fellowships, service work projects, and mini-ministries that will: Glorify our Lord Jesus Christ, encourage youth to put their faith and trust in the Lord Jesus Christ (some for the first time), foster true Christian unity in agape (God's kind of selfless love), strengthen youth to be outspoken in word and deed for the Lord Jesus Christ 24/7/365, and build youth up in their own individual Christ-likeness.
However, this endeavor is no small undertaking. Please remember our youths in your prayers, that God will bless their efforts. Please be open and available, if possible, to our youths if they need your assistance, your time, your treasure, or your talents, in the accomplishment of a godly project. Please do not be condescending to our young people, but be encouraging, and please display for them agape and respect so they can have a good example of Christ-likeness to follow.
C. S. Lewis wrote of God, "...if only the will to walk is really there He [God] is pleased even with their [our] stumbles."
Is the dark afraid of you?
"Do you not know? Have you not heard? The Everlasting God, the LORD, the Creator of the ends of the earth does not become weary or tired. His understanding is inscrutable. He gives strength to the weary, and to [him who] lacks might He increases power. Though youths grow weary and tired, and vigorous young men stumble badly, yet those who wait for the LORD will gain new strength; they will mount up [with] wings like eagles, they will run and not get tired, they will walk and not become weary." -Isaiah 40:28-31
