2009 Initiative "365 Holy Days" - For the month of August, the "exalted" month, we focus on the Resurrection, the exaltation of our Lord Jesus Christ. It is imperative to mourn the loss of ourselves, and so in this 21st century in the USA, to grieve the passing of ourselves. If you are not Christian, then you are dead in your trespasses and sins (see Ephesians 2:1); if you are Christian, then it is not you that lives, but Christ that lives within you (see Galatians 2:19, 20). The five steps of grieving are Denial, Anger, Bargaining, Depression and Acceptance. This week we focus on step 4 Depression, as we continue through First Corinthians 15, AKA "The Resurrection Chapter".
It Is WELL With My Soul:
- Warm-up: Roll & Bounce - Learners try bouncing and rolling ping-pong balls into cups; learners not told how to manipulate cups to receive rolling ping-pong balls, must improvise.
- Exercise: Transforming Power - Learners shown how electrical power is transformed from AC to DC to make their gadgets work. (see Isaiah 40:4)
- Lesson: Dead Rising (4 of 5): Depression (First Corinthians 15:35-49)
- "Seedless" (First Corinthians 15:35-39)
- The "Sine" of Jonah (First Corinthians 15:40, 41; Matthew 12:40; Jonah 1-4)
- Fate/Destiny Chart (for Christian's Only!) (First Corinthians 15:42-49)
- Life application: Depression is a powerful emotional force that can become oppressive if we don't bounce back. We must focus on our destiny to accept our fate.
