Christmas In July (3 of 4)

- The Tree Of The Christ's Communion -

It Is WELL With My Soul:

  • Warm-up: The Postmodern Christmas Tree - Learners are invited to study a wireframe of a kind of tree made up of a network of 4-sided pyramids leading up to a central node that connects by a long rod to another similar node that is above the entire "tree".

In this illustration, the blue node represents God the Father, the red node represents God the Son, the purple rods represent God the Holy Spirit; the lighter purple nodes represent Christians.

  • Exercise: Superintention - While in the vicinity of the Christmas story, study an example of the concept of superintention. See Matthew 2:15 cross reference with Hosea 11:1. Note that Hosea is speaking of the Israelite Exodus in chapter 11, yet the LORD also intended, or Super-intended, for that portion of that verse to be referring to His Unique Son, our Lord Jesus Christ.
  • Lesson: Christmas In July (3 of 4): The Tree Of The Christ's Communion
    • The Christ Selects The First Twelve Branches (Luke 6:12-16)
    • The Christ Gives Power To The Branches (John 15:1-11)
    • The Branches Are To Support One Another (John 15:12-17)
    • The Branches Are To Stand Together, A Testament To Christ Himself (John 15:18-27)
  • Life application: As Christians, we are branches that should be plugged into the Lord Jesus Christ. The lives we live and the loves we love all bear witness to His goodness, His "God"-ness. Go forth knowing that He has been guiding your growth, He has been providing everything you will ever need to accomplish the work that He has for you to accomplish.
